Eternity is a long, long, long time and sand weights a lot, doesn't it? One little tiny grain of sand, you say, "That doesn't weigh much, a flea could pick that up!" But when you take many, many little grains of sand and put them in a bag, they become very, very heavy, don't they? Boys and girls, that's like our sins. Millions and millions of little grains of sand make up a bagful. A bagful of them weighs a lot! One doesn't weigh much, but a whole bag of them weighs a lot. Job said, "My transgression is sealed up in a bag, and thou sewest up mine iniquity" - Job 14:17. When God puts all of our sins together, boys and girls, it's like those little grains of sand. When He puts them all together and weighs them, they weigh a lot! We can learn a lesson from the little grain of sand, that we don't think weighs very much. When you put a lot of them together they weigh a lot, and that's the way it is with our sins. They are small to us, but when we put them all together, they are BIG in the sight of God. We can learn something else from the little grain of sand, too. Somebody has said that if a bird took a grain of sand off of the shores of Nova Scotia and flew it down to New York and came back and got another grain and flew it down to New York, and kept doing that until he got all the sand down into New York, then eternity would have just BEGUN! That shows how vast and how great eternity is. There are two things, boys and girls, that you do not realize, and I don't fully realize either: One is Eternity. The other is the awful weight of our sins in the sight of our Holy God. God has taken all of our sins and laid them on Christ, as we read in Isaiah 53:6 - "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all". And in Isaiah 53:5 God says, "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed". God has placed upon Christ every grain of every little sin, He put them all on Him. They weighed heavy on Him, and He bare them on His own body on the cross. We can be saved if we'll turn to Him, realizing that our little sins are BIG sins in the sight of God. We must realize that we are ALL sinners and that sin CONDEMNS us, and that we must be SAVED from them. Realizing that, putting our trust in Christ as our Savior, we can be saved for all etenity. Do it today and be SAVED!
